A set of eight workshop screwdrivers made from chrome vanadium CrV steel, comprising four flat-head and four Phillips screwdrivers in the most commonly used sizes. The magnetised, sand-blasted tips ensure a secure hold on fasteners during assembly and disassembly.
An alloy with increased hardness and resistance to mechanical wear. The addition of vanadium increases torsional strength, which prevents the shaft from deforming when working with tightly driven screws. Chromium provides corrosion resistance.
The sand-blasting process increases the surface roughness of the tip, which improves grip in the screw slot. Magnetisation allows screws to be held on the tip when working in confined spaces or overhead.
The matt satin coating protects against atmospheric corrosion and makes the tool easier to identify in a toolbox. A satin finish is more resistant to scratching than bright chrome plating.
Ergonomic grips made of a synthetic material provide basic electrical insulation (these are not VDE-certified screwdrivers for live working) and comfort during prolonged use. The material is resistant to workshop oils and solvents.

The first number (e.g. 3.2 or 5) specifies the tip width in millimetres. The second number (75, 100, 150) is the working shaft length in millimetres. The tip width should match the width of the slot in the screw – a tip that is too narrow will damage the slot, while one that is too wide will not fit into the recess.
The digit after the PH designation (0, 1, 2) specifies the tip size. PH0 is the smallest size, used in electronics and precision engineering. PH1 is a universal size for screws with a diameter of 2–3 mm. PH2 is the most common size for screws with a diameter of 3–5 mm in construction and automotive work.
Before starting work, check that the tip size matches the dimensions of the slot in the screw. A mismatch leads to damage of both the tip and the head of the fastener. When tightening, apply pressure along the axis of the screwdriver – working at an angle causes the tip to slip out.
Screwdrivers are not intended for use as chisels, punches or levers. Using a hammer to strike the handle may cause it to crack. After use, clean the screwdrivers of dirt and store them in a dry place. The tips can be degreased periodically and lightly oiled to prevent corrosion.
Worn tips (rounded or chipped) should be withdrawn from use. Attempts to recondition them by grinding alter the tip geometry and lead to further damage to screws. The set contains the basic sizes, covering around 80% of typical workshop and domestic applications.
