6-10 mm staple range

Use and maintenance
Choosing the staple length
Staple length should be matched to the thickness of the material being fastened and the type of substrate. For thin sheeting on timber, 6 mm staples are sufficient, while thicker insulation requires 8-10 mm staples. The staple should penetrate the substrate by at least 5-6 mm to ensure a durable joint.
Working technique
A hammer tacker requires the material to be pressed firmly against the substrate before the strike. The tool should be held perpendicular to the surface and a decisive striking motion made. Too light a strike may result in the staple not being driven in fully, while too heavy a strike may damage delicate materials.
Tool maintenance
The tacker mechanism should be cleaned periodically of dust and material residue, which can restrict the movement of the components. Moving parts can be lightly lubricated with machine oil. After finishing work, it is worth checking that no staples are left in the magazine, as these can cause jams the next time the tool is used.
