Vorel 73412 Gas Blow Torch with Piezo Ignition
A gas blow torch with piezo ignition designed for soldering, scorching, caramelising and model-making work. Powered by butane gas through a TWIST connection to EN417 standard.
Features of the Vorel 73412 gas blow torch
Piezo ignition
The piezo ignition system removes the need for matches or lighters. Simply press the button to generate a spark and fire up the torch. This improves safety in use and shortens the time needed to get the tool ready for work.
1300°C flame temperature
A maximum flame temperature of 1300°C makes it possible to melt soft solders, anneal precious metals and heat-treat materials that require high temperatures. This parameter defines the range of applications the torch can handle in jewellery making and model making.
Flame intensity adjustment
The control valve allows the size and temperature of the flame to be adjusted steplessly. This lets you match the heat output to the job in hand – from gentle warming through to intensive soldering or scorching surfaces.
TWIST connection (EN417)
The TWIST connection standard to EN417 ensures compatibility with widely available gas cartridges fitted with a threaded valve. The quick-fit system allows a cartridge to be changed in seconds without tools.

Gas consumption and run time
Gas consumption of 96 g/h means that a standard 220 g cartridge will provide around 2.3 hours of continuous operation at full power. Actual run time is usually longer, since most applications do not require the torch to be used continuously at maximum settings.
Use and maintenance
Before first use, check that the connection between the torch and the gas cartridge is leak-tight. To fit the cartridge, screw the TWIST connection clockwise until resistance is felt. Always unscrew the cartridge after use, even if it has not been completely used up.
Store the torch in a dry place, away from heat sources and flammable materials. Never leave a connected gas cartridge in place for extended periods. The torch nozzle should be cleaned regularly of soot and debris, which ensures an even flame and correct combustion.
Compatibility with gas cartridges
The torch works only with cartridges fitted with a threaded TWIST valve to EN417 standard. Do not use cartridges with other types of valve, and do not attempt to adapt the torch to other gas sources. The cartridge should contain pure butane – butane-propane mixes may affect performance.
