120 cm steel shaft
The shaft is made from 22 mm steel with a 0.8 mm wall thickness, giving the tool a rigid construction. The 120 cm length lets you work in an upright position without straining your back, which matters during longer gardening sessions.
65Mn spring steel blade
65Mn steel is an alloy with a higher manganese content and a hardness of 42–48 HRC. This material keeps the cutting edge sharp and resists wear when it comes into contact with soil and roots. A blade thickness of 1.5 mm ensures a stable cut.
Footrest

Use and maintenance
Cutting technique
While working, hold the tool perpendicular to the ground and press down with your foot on the footrest. The blade should penetrate 3–5 cm into the soil, creating a clean turf edge. On hard ground, water the cutting area lightly before you start.
Blade maintenance
After use, clean the blade of soil and plant debris. Sharpening the cutting edge periodically with a file or whetstone keeps the tool cutting effectively. If it comes into contact with moisture, wipe the blade dry and protect it with a thin film of oil to prevent the steel from corroding.
Storage
Store the tool in a dry room, either upright or hung up. Avoiding contact with ground moisture and rainfall extends the service life of the steel parts. Before the spring season, check the condition of the blade and sharpen it if necessary.
