The W1 mini hose clip is a fastening component designed to secure flexible hoses in low-pressure fuel and gas systems. The worm drive design allows precise adjustment of the clamping force, ensuring a tight seal around the full circumference of the hose.

14-16 mm clamping range
The clip is designed for hoses with an outside diameter of 14 to 16 mm. The 2 mm adjustment range allows for differences in hose manufacturing tolerances and compensates for material deformation during service. Measure the outside diameter of the hose at the point where the clip will be fitted before purchase.
Carbon steel with Aluzinc coating
The W1 designation refers to a grade of carbon steel with a protective Aluzinc coating – an alloy of aluminium and zinc. This coating provides more effective corrosion protection than conventional zinc plating, increasing the durability of the clip in environments exposed to moisture and chemical vapours. Suitable for operation at temperatures from -30°C to +80°C.
9 mm band width
This parameter defines the contact area between the clip and the hose. A 9 mm wide band spreads the clamping force over a larger area, which prevents the hose wall from being cut or damaged when the screw is tightened. The mini variant is intended for thin-walled hoses used in low-pressure systems.
Worm screw and nut mechanism
The clip is tightened by turning the worm screw (usually with an Allen key or a flat-blade screwdriver). The screw design allows repeated fitting and removal without loss of clamping performance, which makes maintenance and hose replacement easier. Fitting and using hose clips
Fitting
Slip the clip over the hose before pushing the hose onto the spigot. Once the hose is on the spigot, the clip should sit 3-5 mm from the end of the spigot. Tighten the screw gradually, checking that the clamping pressure is even. Do not apply excessive force, which could damage the hose – the tightening torque should be around 2-3 Nm for rubber hoses and 1-2 Nm for plastic hoses.
Checking for leaks
After fitting, check that the joint is leak-tight. On fuel systems, a leak detector can be used or a pressure test carried out. On gas systems, professional leak detection methods compliant with safety standards are mandatory. Clips should be checked every 6-12 months and retightened if necessary.
Compatibility with hose materials
W1 mini clips are suitable for rubber, silicone and plastic hoses (PVC, polyurethane). They are not intended for braided hoses or steel pipes. Before fitting, make sure that the hose material is resistant to the substance being carried and that its walls are thick enough to withstand the pressure of the clip without damage.
