Wide chisel with an SDS Plus shank, designed for work in concrete, brick and other building materials. Made from chrome vanadium (CrV) steel, it offers durability during intensive use in rotary hammers.
The SDS Plus (Special Direct System) fitting allows quick tool changes without additional keys. Compatible with rotary hammers from Bosch, Makita, DeWalt, Metabo and other manufacturers using this standard. The shank has a diameter of 10 mm with the characteristic grooves that ensure a secure fit.
CrV (chrome vanadium steel) offers increased hardness and wear resistance compared with ordinary carbon steel. The addition of chrome improves corrosion resistance, while vanadium increases mechanical strength, which translates into a longer tool life when working in abrasive materials.
The 40 mm wide blade allows larger surfaces to be removed efficiently in a single pass. A thickness of 14 mm provides sufficient rigidity, minimising flex during use. The design works well for chasing channels for installations and stripping plaster over larger areas.
An overall length of 250 mm provides sufficient reach while maintaining control over the tool. The working length of the cutting section is approximately 190 mm, which is enough for cutting channels of standard depth and for work at edges and corners.

Before buying, check that your hammer has an SDS Plus chuck. This system is found on hammers with an impact energy of up to approximately 5 J. Larger demolition hammers are often fitted with an SDS Max or SDS Top chuck, which is not compatible with this chisel. You will find information about the chuck type in the power tool's operating instructions or on its rating plate.
Before starting work, make sure the chisel is correctly seated in the hammer's chuck – you should hear the characteristic click of the lock. Check that the tool has no play in the chuck. While chiselling, hold the hammer at an angle of approximately 60–80 degrees to the surface, which ensures optimum impact efficiency.
After finishing work, clean the chisel of concrete dust and material residue. The grooves of the SDS Plus shank should be greased periodically with a dedicated SDS chuck grease, which makes tool changes easier and protects against the mechanism seizing. Store the tool in a dry place to prevent corrosion.
Chiselling concrete and brick produces a large amount of silica dust, which is harmful to the respiratory system. Use an FFP2 or FFP3 dust mask. Safety goggles and work gloves are mandatory. Ear defenders are also recommended, as working with a rotary hammer generates noise exceeding 100 dB.
