Wire cutters made from drop-forged CrV steel, designed for cutting wire up to 3.5 mm in diameter. The tool is used for electrical, plumbing and mechanical work requiring precise cutting of conductors.
Chrome vanadium steel (CrV) is characterised by increased hardness and wear resistance. Drop forging densifies the structure of the material, which increases the blades' resistance to deformation and extends the period for which the cutting edges stay sharp.
The thermal blackening process creates a protective layer against corrosion. This protection is important when working in damp environments or in contact with conductive materials that may accelerate corrosion.
The vinyl coating on the handles provides electrical insulation and increases friction in contact with the hand. This material absorbs the vibrations generated when cutting harder wire, which reduces strain on the wrists during repetitive operations.
This parameter defines the wire thickness that can be cut without risk of damaging the blades. Exceeding this value may lead to chipping of the cutting edges or permanent deformation of the cutter mechanism.

Before starting work, measure the wire diameter with a micrometer or vernier calliper. Attempting to cut wire with a diameter greater than 3.5 mm may permanently damage the cutting edges or the pivot mechanism of the cutters.
Wire cutters require periodic maintenance to maintain their technical parameters. After each use, remove contamination from the blades with a dry cloth. If they come into contact with corrosive substances, clean the tool with a degreaser.
Lubricate the pivot mechanism with a drop of machine oil every 3-6 months. Remove excess lubricant to prevent contamination from sticking. Storing in a dry place prevents corrosion of the steel components.
The blades do not require sharpening when used correctly in accordance with the technical parameters. If chipping or deformation of the cutting edges occurs, the tool should be replaced with a new one.
When cutting live wire, use cutters with certified dielectric insulation. The vinyl handle coating on the YT-18566 does not provide protection against electric shock.
