How a wood splitting drill bit works
The tapered bit is driven into the wood along the grain, gradually widening the hole. Rotational force is converted into splitting force, which separates the material along its natural split lines. This method requires less effort than traditional axe splitting when working with large quantities of material.
Use and maintenance
Before starting work, make sure that the adapter is correctly fitted in the drill and that the bit is securely connected to the adapter. The drill should be held perpendicular to the wood surface, starting at low speed.
Monitor the temperature of the bit during use – excessive heating may indicate too much resistance or an incorrect rotational speed. After use, clean the bit of debris and protect it from moisture.

The SDS adapters are designed for hammer drills with an SDS-Plus chuck (10 mm shank diameter) or SDS-Max (18 mm). The hex adapter works with keyless and keyed chucks on standard drills and cordless drill drivers of suitable power.
