S3S ESD category protective footwear with a composite toe cap and flexible penetration-resistant midsole. Designed for work in environments exposed to impact, punctures, slipping and electrostatic discharge.
The fibreglass toe cap withstands impacts of up to 200 J and compression of up to 15 kN in accordance with EN 20345. Unlike steel equivalents, it does not conduct heat, which ensures thermal comfort in extreme conditions — the foot does not freeze in winter or overheat in summer. The composite construction is also lighter than metal, reducing fatigue during prolonged work.
The 4 mm thick midsole is made from ballistic material (as used in bulletproof vests) and protects the foot against punctures from sharp objects at forces of up to 1100 N. The key difference compared with traditional steel midsoles is full flexibility across the metatarsal area, allowing the foot to bend naturally when walking and working in a squatting position.
The two-component outsole made from compact and expanded polyurethane provides SR (Slip Resistant) grip — resistant to slipping on ceramic tiles with detergent and glycerine. The oil-resistant and antistatic (ESD) construction dissipates electrostatic charges, protecting sensitive electronics. The heel area features shock absorption, reducing strain on the joints and spine.
The latest-generation synthetic leather (microfibre) limits water penetration and absorption while maintaining breathability. The material offers high tear resistance and does not require the time-consuming care typical of natural leather — simply wipe it with a damp cloth. The popcorn-design footbed provides ventilation and cushioning.

S3 — the basic category covering: protective toe cap, penetration-resistant midsole, slip-resistant, oil-resistant and antistatic outsole, an upper with limited water absorption, and shock absorption in the heel area.
S (in S3S) — an additional letter denoting a flexible penetration-resistant midsole (instead of a rigid metal one), which increases the comfort and flexibility of the footwear.
ESD — Electrostatic Discharge, i.e. controlled dissipation of electrostatic charges. ESD footwear has electrical resistance in the range of 100 kΩ - 35 MΩ, which protects sensitive electronic components from damage by discharge.
Before first use, check that size 46 matches your foot length. It is recommended to leave approximately 1-1.5 cm of space in front of the toes to ensure comfort during prolonged wear and movement on site.
The microfibre upper does not require specialist care products. Regular cleaning with a damp cloth and drying at room temperature is sufficient — avoid drying directly next to heat sources (radiators, heaters), as this may damage the PU outsole.
The popcorn-design footbed can be removed and aired after an intensive working day. If the footbed wears out, it can be replaced with a new one, which extends the service life of the entire footwear.
Before purchase, verify the workplace requirements set out in the occupational risk assessment. The S3S ESD category meets most requirements for work in construction, industry and warehouses. In environments with a risk of contact with molten metals or aggressive chemicals, higher protection categories (S4, S5) or specialist chemical-resistant footwear may be required.
