S1 safety sandals designed for work in industrial environments where mechanical protection of the feet and breathability of the footwear are required. The model features a composite safety toe cap and a slip-resistant dual-density PU/PU sole.
Technical characteristics of S1 safety sandals
Composite safety toe cap
The toe cap is made from composite materials and provides protection against impacts of up to 200 J in accordance with EN 20345. Compared with a steel toe cap it is around 40% lighter, which reduces strain on the feet during many hours of work. It contains no metal, so it does not conduct heat or cold.
Dual-density PU/PU sole with SRC certification
The polyurethane sole uses dual-density technology and is resistant to oils, greases and petroleum-based substances. The SRC marking confirms that slip-resistance tests have been passed both on ceramic surfaces with detergent (SRA) and on steel surfaces with glycerine (SRB). The sole has antistatic properties.
Ventilated upper construction
The suede leather upper with perforations allows air to circulate inside the footwear. The open-sided sandal design increases breathability, which is important when working in temperatures above 20°C or in environments with high humidity.
Velcro fastening system
The Velcro fastening allows the footwear to be put on and taken off quickly and adjusted precisely to the circumference of the foot. Compared with lacing, it cuts the time needed to put the footwear on by around 60%. The Velcro retains its holding properties throughout the life of the footwear.

Limitations on the use of S1 footwear
S1 safety sandals are not intended for work in wet conditions or in environments with temperatures below 5°C. They do not have a penetration-resistant midsole – for such applications, choose category S1P or higher. The open upper construction rules them out for use in areas exposed to contact with hot liquids or sparks.
Use and maintenance
Before first use, check that the footwear fits correctly – the sandals should sit firmly against the heel, and the toes must not touch the toe cap. Fasten the Velcro so that the footwear does not restrict movement yet does not slip off the foot.
The leather upper should be cleaned with a soft brush after each working day. For heavy soiling, a damp cloth may be used. Do not use aggressive detergents or solvents. The sandals should dry at room temperature, away from heat sources.
Check the sole regularly for tread wear. Once the depth of the grooves has decreased by more than 50%, slip resistance is significantly reduced. Damage to the toe cap or visible cracks in the upper mean the footwear must be withdrawn from further use on safety grounds.
