YATO YT-01881 Offset Ratcheting Combination Spanner 19mm
Combination spanner with a 72-tooth ratchet, made from CrV chrome vanadium steel. The twisted handle design and offset head ensure ergonomic operation in confined workspaces.
Features of the ratcheting combination spanner
Handle with a 90° twist
The design offsets the handle axis from the working heads, increasing leverage and reducing the pressure required from the hand. It allows greater torque to be applied to the nut with less physical effort, which matters during prolonged work on a seized threaded joint.
72-tooth ratchet in the ring end
The 72-tooth ratchet mechanism requires only a 5° working swing, making it possible to work in tight spaces where a full turn of the spanner is impossible. The ratchet speeds up tightening and loosening by removing the need to lift the spanner off after every stroke.
Head offset by 15°
A 15° offset between the ring and open ends and the handle improves access to bolts in recesses and around obstructions. This angle is a compromise between ergonomics and the ability to work in hard-to-reach assembly points.
CrV chrome vanadium steel
A steel alloy with added chromium and vanadium offers increased resistance to abrasion and plastic deformation. A hardness of 40-45 HRC provides mechanical strength while maintaining elasticity, which minimises the risk of cracking under load.

Use and maintenance
Checking size compatibility
A 19 mm size corresponds to the width across the flats of a nut or bolt head. Before use, check that the spanner sits on all six faces of the nut without play. Play can damage the corners and prevent the joint from being undone later.
Ratchet direction of operation
The ratchet mechanism has a direction switch, usually located on the ring end. Before starting work, set the correct direction: clockwise to tighten, anticlockwise to loosen. An incorrect setting will prevent torque from being transmitted.
Tool maintenance
