RIBE YT-1068 YATO Impact Bit Socket Set
A set of 8 RIBE bit sockets for use with 1/2" impact wrenches. Made from CrMo SCM-440 chrome-molybdenum steel and designed for work on cylinder head bolts, wheel hubs and drivetrain systems. Sizes from RM5 to RM13 cover the most common workshop applications.

The RIBE profile in automotive repairs
The RIBE profile has a star-shaped form with rounded edges and is used mainly on German vehicles (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi). It provides a larger contact area than standard profiles, which reduces the risk of damaging the bolt when undoing it.
CrMo SCM-440 steel for impact applications
The SCM-440 chrome-molybdenum alloy is characterised by a hardness of 40-45 HRC and resistance to material fatigue. The chromium content increases corrosion resistance, while molybdenum improves mechanical strength when working with impact wrenches that generate impacts of up to 1000 Nm.
1/2" drive for impact systems
The 1/2" (12.7 mm) square drive is the standard for pneumatic and electric impact wrenches with a torque of up to 1500 Nm. The socket is fitted with a retaining ball that prevents the bit from dropping out during use. Compatible with 1/2" accessories from all manufacturers.
RM5-RM13 size range
The set includes 8 sizes: RM5, RM6, RM7, RM8, RM10, RM11, RM12, RM13. It covers most RIBE bolts used in petrol and diesel engines, cylinder heads, hubs and gearboxes. Sizes RM8-RM12 are among the most commonly used in automotive workshops.

Checking RIBE profile compatibility
Before use, check that the bolt has a RIBE profile and not a visually similar Torx. The RIBE profile has rounded star points, whereas Torx has straight edges. Using the wrong profile will damage both the bolt and the bit. If in doubt, compare with the vehicle's technical documentation.
Use with impact wrenches
The RIBE YT-1068 bit sockets are designed for use with 1/2" drive impact wrenches. Before starting work, check that the bit is correctly seated and locked in position by the retaining ball. During impact work, increase the torque gradually, starting at 30-40% of the tool's maximum power.
If a bolt is seized, do not immediately increase the impact power. It is more effective to reverse the direction of rotation several times (tightening and loosening) and to apply a penetrating release agent. This helps to avoid damaging the thread or shearing the bolt.
Maintenance of RIBE impact bit sockets
After finishing work, clean the bits of dirt with oil and apply anti-corrosion protection. Pay particular attention to the cleanliness of the RIBE profile, as an accumulation of dirt reduces the contact area with the bolt. Storing them in a dedicated organiser or case protects against mechanical damage and moisture.
