1/2" 12-Point Socket Set YATO YT-12630
A complete 21-piece 12-point socket set in chrome vanadium steel with a 1/2 inch drive, designed for assembly and servicing work. The 8-36 mm size range covers the most common bolt and nut sizes used in the automotive and industrial sectors.
Technical characteristics
12-point profile
The 12-point internal profile makes contact with the nut at 12 points instead of 6 as with hex sockets. This increases the contact area and reduces the risk of damaging the bolt edges when working under load. Particularly useful when tightening fasteners with limited access.
Chrome vanadium steel (CrV)
CrV steel contains chromium and vanadium, which increase wear resistance and mechanical strength. The vanadium addition improves the grain structure of the steel, resulting in greater tool durability when working with the torque values typical of a 1/2 inch drive.
Hardness 43-47 HRC
The 43-47 HRC hardness range on the Rockwell scale provides a balance between resistance to deformation and material flexibility. Values below 43 HRC could lead to deformation under load, while above 47 HRC the risk of cracking under impact would increase.
Satin chrome finish
The chrome layer on the socket surface forms a protective barrier against corrosion. The satin finish reduces glare during work and makes it easier to identify the size thanks to clearer markings. The polished surface prevents the build-up of dirt.

Tool compatibility
A 1/2 inch drive is the standard used in torque wrenches, ratchets, extension bars and universal joints. The set works with most manual and pneumatic tools available on the market. Before use, check that the maximum torque of the tool does not exceed the strength of the socket – particularly with the smaller 8-10 mm sizes.
Use and maintenance
12-point sockets need to be matched correctly to the type of bolt. The 12-point profile works with both hex and 12-point bolts, but for heavily corroded or damaged fasteners hex sockets are recommended because of the larger contact area at 6 points.
After use, clean the sockets of dirt and dry them. In conditions exposed to moisture, periodic protection of the surface with a maintenance product is recommended. Storing them in the case protects against mechanical damage and makes it easier to check that the set is complete.
When working with a torque wrench, avoid exceeding the maximum torque recommended for a given socket size. Mechanical damage most often occurs when using a tube as a lever extension or applying excessive force on seized threaded connections.
