Features of the YATO YT-25675 Phillips screwdriver

Magnetised Phillips PH1 tip

The PH1 size matches 2.5-3.5 mm Phillips screws used in electronics, small domestic appliances and furniture hardware assembly. The magnetised tip holds the screw in place, which makes work in vertical and overhead positions easier and minimises the risk of dropping fasteners.

200 mm shaft in CrV 6150 steel

The 200 mm blade length gives access to recessed fixing points, for example in electronic enclosures, cabinets or back boxes. CrV 6150 chrome vanadium steel has a hardness of 47-52 HRC, which provides resistance to twisting and wear under heavy use.

Satin surface finish

The satin finish on the shaft increases resistance to corrosion and abrasion. The matt surface reduces glare when working in well-lit areas and makes the tool easier to identify in a set.

Polypropylene (PP) handle

Polypropylene keeps the handle light while maintaining mechanical strength. The material resists oils, solvents and detergents, which matters when working in workshop conditions. The ergonomic shape reduces hand fatigue during repeated screw driving.

Phillips tip size comparison

How do I choose the right Phillips tip size?

PH0: 2.0-2.5 mm screws - watches, spectacles, precision electronics
PH1: 2.5-3.5 mm screws - electronics, small domestic appliances, furniture hardware
PH2: 4.0-5.5 mm screws - general building work, plasterboard, larger hardware
PH3: screws above 6.0 mm - timber construction, heavy fixings

Using the wrong tip size damages the cross recess in the screw head and makes removal more difficult.

Use and maintenance

Before starting work, check the tip for signs of wear - rounded edges reduce grip and can damage the screw head. Choose a Phillips screwdriver whose tip fills the cross recess without play.

When driving screws, apply axial pressure along the axis of the shaft - this prevents the tip from slipping out and damaging the screw head. Do not use the screwdriver as a lever or strike it with a hammer on seized screws - this can deform the tip or crack the handle.

After use, clean the screwdriver of any contamination. The shaft can be wiped with a degreaser and dried. Store the tool in a dry place protected from moisture. Check the magnetism of the tip periodically - if it weakens, the tip can be re-magnetised using a neodymium magnet.

Safety

Wear safety goggles when working with the screwdriver, particularly when removing rusted or seized screws. Do not use the screwdriver near live components - the metal shaft conducts electricity. For work on electrical installations, use tools with insulation compliant with IEC 60900.
