The block brush is a professional painting tool designed for painting large flat surfaces. The YATO YT-54650, measuring E70x170 mm, combines highly resilient synthetic bristles with an ergonomic lacquered beech handle.
A width of 70 mm and a bristle length of 170 mm allow a large area to be covered in a single stroke. This size is well suited to painting facades, interior walls and fence panels, where working efficiency is key.
Synthetic filaments keep a consistent resilience regardless of humidity and release paint evenly. Unlike natural bristles, they do not absorb excess water, which prevents emulsion paints from separating during application.
Once lacquered, beech forms a smooth, moisture-resistant surface. The ergonomic shape of the handle provides a secure grip during prolonged use, reducing hand fatigue when painting large areas.
The distinctive shape of the brush, with wide, flat bristles, allows paint to be applied quickly to flat surfaces. This design differs from standard flat brushes in having a lower bristle density, which makes it easier to work with thick paints.

Before first use, lightly dampen the brush with water (for water-based paints) or thinner (for oil-based paints), then shake it out thoroughly. This removes loose fibres and conditions the bristles for work.
Once painting is finished, clean the brush immediately with a suitable solvent. Wash water-based paints out with warm soapy water; remove oil-based paints with white spirit or turpentine substitute. Rinse until all paint has been removed from the bristles.
Dry a clean brush upright with the bristles pointing up, or hang it with the bristles pointing down. Do not leave the brush soaking in solvent for more than a few hours, as this permanently distorts the bristles. Store in a dry place, protecting the bristles from damage.
