Rasp Disc 120 x 6 mm, 22.2 mm Bore YATO YT-59178

A rasp disc for angle grinders, designed for working wood, aerated concrete, plastics and plasterboard. The steel construction with a single-cut tooth pattern ensures efficient milling, grinding and grooving of construction and finishing materials.

Disc diameter120 mm
Mounting bore22.2 mm
Working height6 mm
Max. speed13,000 rpm

Features of the YATO YT-59178 rasp disc

Compatibility with angle grinders

The 22.2 mm mounting bore is standard on most 115-125 mm angle grinders. A maximum speed of 13,000 rpm allows the disc to be used with typical machines without the risk of exceeding its permitted parameters. Before fitting, check that the grinder's speed matches the disc's specification.

Steel construction with a single cut

The 2.5 mm steel plate provides rigidity during use. The type 1# (single) cut enables aggressive material removal while maintaining control over the process. The steel construction increases resistance to deformation during intensive work.

6 mm working height

This parameter defines the depth of the disc's teeth and affects how much material is removed in a single pass. A height of 6 mm is sufficient for most grooving and surface grinding applications in medium-hard construction materials.

Suitable for a range of materials

The tooth geometry allows materials of varying structure to be worked – from soft (polystyrene, wood) to medium-hard (aerated concrete, plasterboard). It is not intended for working metal, natural stone or structural concrete.

Applications of the rasp disc

  • Chasing walls for electrical installations in aerated concrete and plasterboard
  • Milling wood and wood-based panels – levelling surfaces, removing knots
  • Grinding and levelling plaster and render surfaces
  • Removing old paint coatings, varnishes and protective layers
  • Rounding over and chamfering the edges of wooden components
  • Working plastics – cutting, grinding, shaping
  • Cleaning surfaces of construction debris
  • Shaping polystyrene and insulation materials

Tool compatibility

Before fitting, check the grinder's maximum speed – it must not exceed 13,000 rpm. Make sure the spindle bore diameter is 22.2 mm (M14 standard). The disc is designed for 115-125 mm angle grinders. Do not use with grinders running at higher speeds.

Use and maintenance

When using the rasp disc, wear eye and respiratory protection – working construction materials generates large amounts of dust. Guide the tool evenly without applying excessive pressure, letting the disc remove material on its own. Too much pressure can cause the disc to overheat and reduce the durability of the teeth.

After use, clean the disc of material residue with a wire brush. Check the condition of the teeth – damaged or excessively worn teeth reduce working efficiency and can cause vibration. Store the disc in a dry place, protected from moisture that causes the steel to corrode.

Work safety

The rasp disc is an aggressive tool – it requires experience in using angle grinders. Always clamp the workpiece; never hold it in your hand. Work in a stable position with full control over the tool. Do not use the disc on materials it is not intended for – harder materials can cause kickback.
