YATO YT-731240 Pocket Laser Measure – 30 m range
A compact laser measure for indoor measurements, with area and volume calculation. Measuring 86 × 23 × 12 mm, the device delivers accurate readings from 0.05 to 30 metres using Class 2 laser technology.

Compact aluminium body
At 86 × 23 × 12 mm it fits in a pocket or on a keyring. The aluminium housing resists mechanical damage on site while keeping the device lightweight.
Measuring modes for different applications
Single-point measurement gives quick individual distance readings, while continuous mode tracks changes dynamically as you move the device. The indirect measurement function based on Pythagoras' theorem lets you determine height or distance without direct access to the target point.
Automatic area and volume calculation
After two measurements the device works out a flat area automatically; after three it calculates the volume of a room. This function removes the need for manual calculations and speeds up estimating how much finishing material is required.
Power management and USB-C charging
The laser switches off automatically after 20 seconds and the whole device after 150 seconds of inactivity, extending runtime on a single charge. The USB-C port allows charging from standard chargers and power banks, with no need to replace batteries.

Laser class 2 – safe use
A Class 2 laser has an output power of up to 1 mW in the visible (red) range. The natural blink reflex protects the eyes from damage if the beam is viewed accidentally. Protective goggles are not required for normal work, but deliberately looking into the laser light source should be avoided.

Measuring functions and operation
The YATO YT-731240 laser measure offers a selectable measurement start point – you can choose between the front and rear edge of the device as the reference point. This function is useful when measuring in room corners or where obstacles prevent direct access.
You can switch between metres, feet and inches without interrupting your work. The calibration function maintains measurement accuracy during intensive use – the device can be recalibrated without sending it to an external service centre.
A battery charge indicator on the LCD display shows the remaining runtime, so you can plan charging before the battery runs out in the middle of measuring.
Outdoor measurement limitations
The optics of the YT-731240 are optimised for indoor use. Strong sunlight makes it significantly harder – or impossible – to read the laser dot on surfaces more than a few metres away. Outdoor measurements in full sun may require shading the target point or moving the work to the evening. In twilight and at night the measure works without restriction.
Maintenance and use
Before first use, fully charge the Li-ion battery through the USB-C port – a full charge takes around 1–2 hours depending on the charger used. Chargers rated 5V/1A are recommended for optimum cell life.
Clean the transmitter and receiver lenses periodically with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt. Contamination on the optics can reduce the measuring range and accuracy, particularly at distances close to the maximum 30-metre range.
The aluminium housing protects the electronics from damage in falls from low heights, but the device does not carry an IP rating for dust and moisture protection. Avoid working in high humidity and direct contact with water.
