S1 category safety footwear with a steel toe cap, designed for work in industrial environments requiring basic mechanical protection. Full-grain leather upper, dual-density PU/PU outsole with slip-resistant properties.
Technical features of S1 safety footwear
Steel safety toe cap
Impact resistance up to 200 J and compression resistance up to 15 kN. These parameters provide protection against falling objects weighing around 20 kg from a height of 1 metre and against a load of up to 1.5 tonnes rolling over the toe cap. Used in environments where there is a risk of mechanical injury to the feet.
Full-grain leather upper
Natural full-grain cowhide leather is resistant to mechanical abrasion and retains its flexibility over a long service life. The material is breathable, which matters during many hours of work in enclosed footwear.
Dual-density PU/PU outsole
The two-layer polyurethane construction combines the resilience of the lower layer with the durability of the upper. The material is resistant to mineral oils and fuels and retains its properties at temperatures from -20°C to +80°C. The lower layer absorbs impact under the heel, reducing strain on the joints.
SRA slip resistance
The SRA marking confirms that the footwear has passed slip tests on ceramic tiles coated with a sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) solution. The friction coefficient exceeds the standard values for both the heel and the entire outsole, ensuring stability on smooth, wet surfaces typical of industrial premises.

S1 category – scope of protection
The S1 category in accordance with EN 20345 covers the basic requirements: an enclosed heel area, antistatic properties, energy absorption in the heel area and oil resistance of the outsole. This category does not include penetration resistance of the outsole or water resistance of the upper. Intended for use in dry indoor environments.

Use and care of safety footwear
Before first use, check that the size matches the length of your foot with a 10–15 mm allowance. Footwear should be fitted while the wearer has work socks of the appropriate thickness on.
Antistatic properties require the outsole to be in contact with a conductive surface. When working on insulating mats or carpets, these properties may be limited. The electrical resistance of the footwear is in the range 100 kΩ – 1000 MΩ.
The leather upper should be cleaned regularly with a damp cloth and treated with full-grain leather care products. Avoid direct contact with heat sources when drying. The PU outsole retains its flexibility with regular use – prolonged storage without use may cause the material to harden.
Checking compatibility with workstation requirements
Before purchase, verify the occupational risk assessment for the relevant workstation. The S1 category does not provide protection against penetration of the outsole (which requires a P marking) or against water (which requires S2 or S3). For outdoor work or contact with liquids, higher protection categories are required.
