Cordless hedge trimmer with a brushless motor, powered by two 18V batteries. The 55 cm cutting bar allows flat surfaces to be trimmed efficiently, while the 28 mm cutting capacity lets you cut through branches of a thickness typical of deciduous and coniferous hedges.

Brushless BLDC motor
Brushless technology does away with the mechanical friction of carbon brushes, increasing energy efficiency by around 25-30% compared with brushed motors. This means longer runtime on a single charge and lower servicing requirements. The motor produces less heat, which translates into stable power during prolonged use.
2x18V power supply - dual battery system
The trimmer requires two 18V batteries to be fitted at the same time (36V total voltage). This configuration delivers greater cutting power while remaining compatible with standard batteries from the 18V platform. An LED indicator shows the charge level, so you can plan breaks before the batteries are completely drained.
Rotating head ±45°/±90°
The rotating cutting head mechanism lets you set the blades at 0°, ±45° and ±90° relative to the handle axis. This makes it easier to trim vertical surfaces (the sides of a hedge), horizontal surfaces (the top) and angled surfaces without having to change your body position, which reduces fatigue when working over larger areas.
550 mm blade length and 1550 rpm speed

Compatibility and power requirements
Batteries and charger are not included
The YT-828353 requires two 18V Yato batteries (lithium-ion platform). A minimum capacity of 4.0 Ah per battery is recommended to provide enough runtime for an average-sized garden. Higher-capacity batteries (5.0 Ah or 6.0 Ah) extend runtime but add weight to the tool. The charger and batteries must be purchased separately or taken from other tools that use the same battery platform.
Using and maintaining the hedge trimmer
Before starting work, check the charge level of both batteries and make sure the blades are clean and lightly oiled. Oiling the cutting bar before every use reduces friction and prevents corrosion.
When cutting, guide the trimmer in a movement parallel to the hedge surface, keeping a constant angle. The rotating head lets you set the optimum blade position without twisting your wrists, which is particularly important during prolonged work.
After finishing work, remove plant debris from the cutting bar with a brush or compressed air. The blades should be lubricated regularly with garden tool maintenance oil. Store the batteries at room temperature and at a charge level of around 40-60% to preserve cell life.
The 28 mm cutting capacity explained
A cutting capacity of 28 mm defines the maximum branch thickness the trimmer can cut through without risking damage to the mechanism or jamming the blades. This value is typical of semi-professional trimmers and is sufficient for maintaining hedges that are trimmed regularly (once or twice a season). Branches thicker than 28 mm should be removed with secateurs or a saw.
