Features of the sanding belt
P120 grit – medium-grade sanding
P120 grit (grain size approximately 125 μm) is used for removing medium-sized imperfections, preparing surfaces before finishing and smoothing after coarse sanding. It strikes a balance between the rate of material removal and the quality of the resulting surface.
Aluminium oxide as the abrasive material
Aluminium oxide grains are characterised by high hardness and resistance to fracturing. This material performs well when sanding hard and soft woods, non-ferrous metals and certain plastics. As you work, the grains self-sharpen, exposing fresh cutting edges.
Cloth backing – flexibility and durability
The cloth backing gives the belt its flexibility, allowing it to conform to the sander rollers and to sand lightly contoured surfaces. The woven structure resists tearing and stretching when working under load.
Joint-free construction – continuous operation
The belt has no joint, which eliminates the risk of uneven sanding at the join. This construction ensures smooth running, even wear of the abrasive and consistent working parameters throughout the life of the belt.

Compatibility with belt sanders

Using and maintaining sanding belts
Before fitting the belt, check the condition of the sander rollers – they should be clean and free from contamination. Fit the belt in the direction of the arrow on its inner side. Correct belt tension ensures effective sanding and prevents the belt from slipping during use.
When sanding, apply even pressure and guide the sander along the grain of the wood. Excessive pressure shortens belt life and can cause the material to overheat. When sanding metals, it is worth using cooling or taking breaks to prevent the abrasive grains from clogging.
After use, the belt can be cleaned of dust with a stiff-bristled brush or compressed air. Store belts in a dry place, away from heat and moisture, which prevents the backing from deforming and the adhesive bonding the abrasive grains from losing its properties.
