YATO YT-85225 Cordless Lawn Mower 2x18V 43cm
A cordless lawn mower with a dual 2x18V power supply, fitted with a brushless motor and a central cutting height adjustment system. A 430 mm cutting width and a spacious 50-litre grass box ensure efficient maintenance of medium and larger lawns without the need to connect to a mains power supply.
Technical features of the YATO cordless lawn mower
BLDC brushless motor
A brushless motor delivers higher energy efficiency (up to 30% longer runtime per charge), quieter operation and a longer service life than brushed motors. The absence of carbon brushes reduces running costs and eliminates the need to replace wearing parts at regular intervals.
2x18V (36V) power system
The dual-battery system combines the power of two 18V batteries to achieve an effective operating voltage of 36V. This solution provides greater performance while remaining compatible with the popular 18V batteries from the YATO SYSTEM range. It can be used with batteries of various capacities: 2 Ah, 3 Ah, 4 Ah and 6 Ah.
Central 6-position cutting height adjustment
The central adjustment mechanism lets you change the cutting height between 25 and 75 mm using a single lever, without adjusting each wheel separately. The adjustment range allows both a short cut (25 mm) and a higher cut (75 mm) during periods of rapid grass growth.
ECO/AUTO mode and charge indicator
The ECO/AUTO mode switch allows energy consumption to be optimised: ECO mode extends the runtime per charge in less demanding conditions, while AUTO mode automatically adjusts power to the density of the grass. A 4-stage battery charge indicator shows the remaining level of energy.

The YATO 18V system – compatibility and savings
The YT-85225 mower belongs to the extensive YATO SYSTEM 18V range of cordless tools. A single set of batteries and chargers can power dozens of different devices: power tools, garden tools and workshop lighting. This eliminates the need to buy separate batteries for each device, which saves both space and running costs.
Operation and maintenance
Before first use, check the condition of the blade and that all components are correctly secured. The mower is started by pressing the switch lock-off (protection against accidental starting) and holding the start lever. The grass box full indicator shows when the box needs to be emptied.
The IPX1 rating means basic resistance to vertically falling water drops, but the machine is not designed for use in heavy rain. After mowing wet grass, thoroughly clean plant debris from the housing and the grass box.
Routine maintenance includes cleaning the grass discharge chute, checking the condition of the blade (sharpening is recommended once a season or after 25 hours of operation) and checking that the wheels turn freely. During longer periods out of use, Li-Ion batteries should be stored at 10-25°C with a charge level of 40-60%.
The folding handle and the option of storing the mower upright allow compact storage in a garage or utility room with limited floor space.
Choosing battery capacity
The runtime of the mower depends on the capacity of the batteries used and the operating mode. As a guide: a 2x 4Ah set is sufficient for approx. 300-400 m² of lawn in AUTO mode, and 2x 6Ah for 500-600 m². In ECO mode, when mowing short, dry grass, the runtime increases by 20-30%. For larger plots, keeping a spare set of charged batteries is recommended.
