A cordless 18V submersible pump designed for pumping clean water from cellars, tanks, pools and garden ponds. The YT-85283 delivers a flow rate of 2,000 litres per hour with a maximum head of 21 metres.
The cordless system removes the need for access to a mains socket. It allows operation in locations far from power sources, such as allotments, remote water tanks or building sites. Compatibility with 18V batteries means batteries from other tools in the same system can be used.
A flow rate of 2,000 l/h means a standard 4,000-litre garden pool can be emptied in around 2 hours. This figure defines the volume of water moved by the pump per unit of time at minimum hydraulic resistance. The actual flow rate decreases as the delivery head increases.
The maximum head of 21 m is the vertical distance the pump can raise water at zero flow. In practice, this means water can be pumped from a cellar up to ground level and on to more distant locations. At maximum head the flow rate drops to zero – typical operation is at heads of 5–10 m, maintaining optimum flow.
The IPX8 rating confirms the housing is watertight when fully submerged to a depth of up to 1.5 metres. The design protects the motor and electrical components from flooding, allowing the pump to be operated safely in submersible mode. The housing prevents solid particles and moisture from entering the unit.

The pump requires an 18V battery and charger, which are typically not included. Before buying, check that your batteries are compatible with the Yato 18V system. Higher-capacity batteries (e.g. 4.0 Ah, 5.0 Ah) extend the pump's runtime on a single charge.
Before first use, check the condition of the housing and cables, making sure there is no mechanical damage. Place the pump on the bottom of the tank or at the lowest point of the room, ensuring a stable base. Run the discharge hose to the water outlet, avoiding sharp bends that restrict flow.
The unit is designed for pumping clean water – sand, mud or other contaminants can damage the impeller and reduce performance. The maximum temperature of the pumped liquid must not exceed the values specified by the manufacturer. After use, rinse the pump with clean water, particularly after contact with water containing fine particles.
Store the pump in a dry place after drying the housing first. Remove the battery and store it separately at room temperature, with a recommended charge level of around 40–60% for long-term storage. Regularly cleaning the inlet grilles prevents flow blockage and motor overheating.
The pump is not designed for pumping chemically aggressive liquids, wastewater with a high solids content, seawater or flammable substances. Do not run the unit continuously for extended periods without breaks, as this can lead to motor overheating. Running dry (without water) damages the seals and internal components.
