A cordless spreader powered by an 18V lithium-ion battery with a brushed DC motor. The unit spreads fertiliser, seed, salt and crop protection products precisely over areas of up to 800 m². Supplied as a complete kit – 2.0 Ah battery and charger included.
Features of the cordless spreader
18V power system with cross-platform compatibility
The 18V 2.0 Ah lithium-ion battery works with the entire YATO 18V System tool range. This means one battery can be used across a range of garden and workshop tools on the same voltage platform, which lowers running costs and increases working flexibility.
Adjustable spreading settings
6-speed disc speed control and 8-step spreading rate adjustment let you match the working settings to the material – fine seeds need lower disc speeds, while granular fertiliser and salt can be spread at higher speeds. Precise control prevents waste and ensures even coverage of the surface.
3.3-litre hopper capacity
The 3.3-litre hopper lets you spread material over up to 800 m² without refilling. Actual coverage depends on the spreading rate and the type of material – mineral fertilisers, grass seed and road salt have different bulk densities, which affects the actual working range.
ABS plastic construction
The ABS housing is resistant to impact, abrasion, moisture and chemicals. This material is used in professional garden tools because of its favourable strength-to-weight ratio – the unit stays lightweight while the construction remains durable.

Applications of the cordless spreader
- Spreading granular mineral fertiliser on lawns and in home and allotment gardens

Checking battery compatibility
The spreader works with all batteries in the YATO 18V System platform. Before buying additional batteries, make sure they are marked 18V and are compatible with the YATO system – this information is shown on the battery housing and in the technical documentation for the tools.
Use and maintenance
Preparing for use
Before first use, fully charge the battery with the supplied charger. Charging a 2.0 Ah battery takes around 60–90 minutes, depending on the charger model. Before filling the hopper, check that the spreading mechanism turns freely – switch the unit on without any material and test all the speed settings.
Adjusting the spreading settings
The right settings depend on the type of material. Fine flower and grass seeds need lower disc speeds (steps 1–3) and a lower spreading rate to stop them being thrown too far. Granular fertiliser and salt can be spread at higher speeds (steps 4–6). Carry out a test on a small area to check that spreading is even before treating the whole surface.
Cleaning after use
Once you have finished working, remove any material left in the hopper and the spreading mechanism. Thorough cleaning is especially important after spreading mineral fertiliser and salt, as these substances can corrode metal parts. The ABS housing can be wiped with a damp cloth. Do not wash the unit under running water or immerse it in water – this can damage the motor and the electronics.
Storing the battery
Store lithium-ion batteries at room temperature (15–25°C) with a charge level of around 40–60%. Storing them for long periods fully discharged or fully charged shortens the life of the cells. During the winter months, when the unit is not in use, check the battery charge every 2–3 months and top it up to around half capacity if needed.
