Nylon builder's line for setting out straight lines on site. Used for bricklaying, marking plot boundaries and laying surfaces. The 1 mm round profile resists tension, and the bright yellow colour makes the line easy to see from a distance.
Nylon is flexible and resists stretching. It does not break down under tension, so the line can be re-tensioned many times without the risk of snapping. The material resists moisture and does not degrade on contact with water or mortar.
A 1 mm diameter is the standard in bricklaying – thick enough to withstand tension over long runs, yet thin enough to form a precise reference line. The round profile stops the line from twisting as it is unwound.
The vivid colour keeps the line visible in all lighting conditions – from full sun to overcast days. This makes working on large sites easier, where the line has to be clearly visible from a dozen or so metres away.
A 100 m reel is enough to set out several dozen working lines or one very long run. This covers medium-sized building projects without having to join lengths together, which could affect measuring accuracy.

The line should be tensioned between two reference points – pegs, rods or dedicated line holders can be used. On longer runs (over 10 m), check the tension at the midpoint, as even nylon can stretch slightly. When the work is finished, wind the line back onto the reel, avoiding tangles.
Store the reel in a dry place, away from direct sunlight, which can weaken the nylon fibres over time. Avoid contact with sharp tools and chemicals that dissolve plastics (e.g. some solvents).
