A foldable workshop stand for storing car wheels, fitted with a system that protects alloy wheels. The design allows four sets of tyres to be stored safely, with no risk of tread deformation.
The folding mechanism reduces the stand's dimensions once the storage season is over. This is particularly useful in garages with limited floor space, where storage area is a key consideration.
The horizontal shelf design prevents stress from concentrating at a single point on the tyre. Even distribution of the wheel's weight eliminates the risk of flat spots forming on the tread during long-term storage.
Soft protective inserts at the contact points with the rims eliminate the risk of scratching painted and polished surfaces. This protection is particularly important for alloy wheels, which are prone to mechanical damage.
The stand's load capacity matches the weight of a standard set of four passenger car wheels with tyres. The average weight of a single wheel with a 15-17 inch tyre is 18-25 kg, which gives the stand a safety margin.

The maximum width of 225 mm refers to the tyre dimension in millimetres shown in the size marking, e.g. 195/65 R15, 205/55 R16, 225/45 R17. The stand accommodates the most popular sizes fitted to A-C segment passenger cars. Tyres wider than 225 mm require a stand with a greater width.
Before placing the wheels on the stand, check that the structure is stable and that the folding elements are correctly deployed. The wheels are placed in a horizontal position, which eliminates the point loads typical of vertical storage. The protective pads should be checked periodically for mechanical wear.
Tyre pressure during storage should be increased by 0.5 bar above the operating value, which compensates for the natural pressure loss while in storage. Checking the pressure every 2-3 months is recommended. Tyres should be stored away from sources of ozone, solvents and mineral oils, which accelerate the ageing of the rubber.
Before placing them on the stand, clean the wheels of mud, road salt and stones lodged in the tread. Alloy rims are worth protecting with a layer of protective wax. Tyres should be stored in dry rooms at 5-25°C, away from direct sunlight, which causes photochemical degradation.
