The KD1101 is a bench vice made from a steel and cast iron alloy, designed for holding workpieces during hand operations in a metalworking shop, vehicle workshop or garage. The 360° swivel base and integrated anvil extend the range of operations you can carry out without needing additional equipment.
Cast iron damps the vibrations generated during machining well, which reduces the risk of the workpiece working loose. Adding steel to the alloy makes the body more resistant to impact and abrasion than purely cast iron designs.
Hardening increases the surface hardness of the jaws, slowing their wear. The cross-cut pattern creates an anti-slip surface that grips the workpiece even under lateral cutting forces — important when filing and sawing.
Being able to rotate the whole vice without unbolting it from the bench shortens the time needed to change the orientation of the workpiece. The base is secured to the bench top with three bolts, which keeps the vice stable during work at any angle of rotation.
The anvil at the rear of the body lets you carry out light hammering work — straightening wire, forming sheet metal or driving out pins — without needing a separate bench anvil.
The vice base has mounting holes at 93 × 93 mm centres. Before buying, check that the bench top is thick and strong enough for a 5 kg tool and for the working forces generated during clamping. M8 bolts or similar are required for mounting — these are not included.

Lubricate the lead screw regularly with machine grease or metal oil to keep the clamping adjustment smooth and prevent the thread from corroding. After use, it is worth leaving the jaws slightly open — this prevents permanent stress in the mechanism. The body surface can be protected with a thin film of technical oil, particularly in environments with high humidity.
The vice is intended for light and medium workshop tasks. Do not fit extensions to the lead screw handle in order to increase the clamping force beyond the design limits — this can damage the mechanism or the body.
