Spline Socket 1/2" 22 mm x 38 mm YT-14834 YATO
A spline socket with a 1/2 inch square drive, designed for use with torque wrenches, ratchets and extension bars. The spline profile provides a larger contact area with the fastener than standard hex sockets.
Features of the 1/2" spline socket
Spline (multi-spline) profile
The twelve-point internal profile spreads the load over a larger area of the fastener. It reduces the risk of rounding off the corners of bolts and nuts, particularly when working with corroded fasteners or those made from soft materials.
1/2 inch square drive
The standard square drive size (12.7 mm) is compatible with most torque wrenches, ratchets and extension bars used in vehicle workshops. It transmits the torques typically required for assembly and servicing work.

Compatibility with drive tools

Spline profile versus hex profile

After use, clean the socket of dirt, oil and moisture. Storing it in a dry place prevents corrosion. Regular cleaning and protection from moisture extend the service life of the tool.
