A spline socket with a 1/2-inch drive and an 8 mm spline profile, designed for use with ratchets and torque wrenches in applications requiring increased torque transfer.
Technical characteristics of the spline socket
Spline profile
The spline system transfers torque over a larger contact area than standard hex profiles. This reduces the risk of rounding off the corners of bolts and nuts, particularly on components made of soft or corroded steel.
1/2-inch drive
The 1/2" (12.7 mm) standard is the most common size in professional vehicle workshops. Compatible with ratchets, torque wrenches, extension bars and universal joints of the same size. It allows work with torques of up to 200-250 Nm, depending on the construction of the ratchet.
Chrome vanadium steel (CrV)
The chrome vanadium alloy offers greater resistance to twisting and impact than carbon steels. The addition of vanadium increases surface hardness, which translates into resistance to wear during intensive use in workshop conditions.
38 mm working length
The compact design allows access to fasteners in areas with limited working space. The 38 mm length makes it possible to work in mounting recesses typical of automotive and mechanical engineering applications without the need for extension bars.

Compatibility and use
Checking compatibility
Before use, make sure that the bolt or nut has an 8 mm spline profile. The spline profile is not compatible with standard hex or Torx bolts. The socket works with all 1/2" square drive tools in accordance with DIN 3120 / ISO 1174.
Operating recommendations
When working with a torque wrench, use tightening torque values in accordance with the equipment manufacturer's recommendations. Spline sockets must be fully seated on the component before torque is applied. After use in an environment containing moisture or chemicals, the working surfaces should be wiped and lightly oiled.
