1/2" Swivel Head Ratchet YT-0722 YATO
A workshop ratchet with a 72-tooth mechanism and swivel head, designed for assembly and servicing work with 1/2" sockets. Its chrome vanadium steel construction ensures durability under intensive use.
Technical features of the YATO YT-0722 ratchet
72-tooth mechanism
The arc swing is just 5 degrees, allowing work in confined spaces where a standard ratchet would need a greater range of movement. Particularly useful when working deep in an engine bay or on fasteners mounted close to walls.
Swivel head
The ability to set the head at different angles improves access to fasteners in awkward configurations. The head holds its position during use, which removes the need for extension bars or universal joints.
Chrome vanadium steel (CrV)
An alloy characterised by increased resistance to wear and deformation. The chrome plating protects against corrosion, extending the tool's service life in workshop conditions where oils and operating fluids are present.
Quick-release socket system
The mechanism locking the socket on the drive prevents it from slipping off during use. Release is by sliding the ring, allowing the socket to be changed one-handed without the risk of dropping it.

Socket compatibility
The 1/2" drive is the standard in professional socket sets. The ratchet works with sockets from 8 mm to 36 mm, extension bars, universal joints, adaptors and torque wrenches with the same drive size. Before buying impact sockets, check whether the manufacturer permits their use with hand ratchets.
Use and maintenance
The ratchet mechanism requires periodic lubrication with technical grease or penetrating oil, particularly under intensive use. Cleaning the drive after each working day is recommended to remove contaminants that can cause wear to the locking mechanism.
The ratchet is not designed for use with pneumatic or electric impact tools. Using a pipe extension on the handle to increase torque can damage the mechanism. For work requiring high tightening torques, use torque wrenches with a suitable ratchet head.
Storing in a dry place prevents corrosion of the chrome-plated surfaces. If the mechanism jams, apply a penetrating agent and leave the tool for a few hours before attempting to use it again.
