A 150 mm polishing pad designed for use with rotary and dual-action polishers fitted with a 150 mm backing plate. A foam density of 26 kg/m³ determines its hardness and the way pressure is transferred to the surface being polished.
Product characteristics
26 kg/m³ density
The density of the polyurethane foam determines the hardness of the pad and the pressure it transfers to the paintwork. At 26 kg/m³, this pad sits in the medium-hard range — suitable for applying polishing compounds and removing light scratches and paint haze.
150 mm diameter
150 mm is the standard size for workshop and prosumer dual-action polishers. Before buying, check the size of the backing plate on your polisher — it is usually marked DA150 or similar.
Purple colour
In colour-coding systems for polishing pads, purple is usually assigned to medium-hardness foams used for finishing or applying one-step compounds. Always check the intended use against the manufacturer's documentation.
Polisher compatibility
The pad fits polishers with a 150 mm hook-and-loop (velcro) backing plate. Backing plates of this type are fitted to most dual-action polishers on the market — both electric and pneumatic.

How to check compatibility with your polisher
Check the marking on the backing plate of your polisher — it is usually given in the operating manual or on the housing of the tool. The 150 mm pad works with 125–150 mm backing plates fitted with hook-and-loop attachment. Rotary polishers require an additional adapter.
Use and maintenance
After each use, clean the pad of any remaining polishing compound — preferably with a pad brush or compressed air. Washing in warm water with a mild detergent extends the life of the pad. Dry the pad lying flat, away from heat sources. A deformed or heavily contaminated pad should be replaced, as an uneven working surface can result in inconsistent polishing.
