15m Cable Reel KD4028 – Kraft&Dele
The KD4028 is an automatic cable reel designed for permanent installation in a workshop, garage, garden or utility room. The drum with its automatic rewind mechanism removes the need to coil the cable by hand once work is finished, while the built-in safety features protect both the unit and its users.
Product features
Automatic rewind with cable lock
The spring-loaded mechanism rewinds the cable once tension is released. The lock lets you hold the cable at any position during use, so you can move freely within a 15 m radius without the cable retracting on its own.
Thermal cut-out
A built-in overheat cut-out protects the cable and the drum mechanism in the event of overload or prolonged operation at maximum load. This matters particularly when powering appliances with a higher current draw.
Shuttered socket
The AC 250V/16A socket is fitted with shutters that prevent unauthorised persons from inserting objects into it. A feature that matters in environments where children may have access to the unit.
Durable housing and flexible mounting
The plastic housing protects the drum and mechanism from dust and mechanical damage. The design allows wall, ceiling or pole mounting, so the installation can be adapted to the layout of the room.
Cable cross-section and permissible load
A 3×1.5 mm² cable at 230V can safely power appliances of up to approx. 3500 W (at a current of 16A). This cross-section is sufficient for power tools, work lighting or compressors with a typical current draw. When powering appliances with a high starting current (such as angle grinders or hammer drills), make sure the peak current demand does not exceed 16A.

Mounting and use
The reel is designed for permanent mounting on a load-bearing surface (wall, ceiling, pole) using mounting fixings. Before mounting, make sure the surface will support the weight of the unit — 4.7 kg — together with the tension of the cable during use.
When working, unwind the cable to the length needed for the task — running the unit with the cable coiled on the drum while a tool is connected and operating can cause it to overheat. The thermal cut-out will trip if the permissible temperature is exceeded, but it is not a substitute for correct use in line with the instructions.
The housing should be cleaned regularly of dust and debris that could restrict ventilation and heat dissipation. Use a dry or slightly damp cloth — no solvent-based cleaners.
