A trimming knife with a replaceable 18 mm segmented blade, fitted with an auto lock system and an ergonomic body with a non-slip coating. Designed for cutting soft and semi-hard materials in renovation, finishing and workshop applications.
Technical features of the Yato YT-75071 snap-off knife
18 mm snap-off blade made from SK5 steel
The segmented blade design allows the cutting edge to be renewed repeatedly by snapping off worn sections. SK5 steel (carbon tool steel) has a hardness of 58-60 HRC, which ensures a long-lasting cutting edge while remaining resistant to chipping.
Auto Lock blade system
The mechanism automatically secures the extended blade in the selected position, eliminating the risk of it retracting unexpectedly during use. The metal guide increases the rigidity of the assembly and the precision of blade travel when cutting materials that require pressure.
ABS housing with TPR coating
The body made from ABS plastic provides mechanical strength at a low tool weight. The thermoplastic elastomer (TPR) coating on the grip areas reduces hand slippage when working in damp or dusty conditions and absorbs vibration.
Ergonomic handle design
The handle profile is shaped to suit the natural position of the hand, minimising fatigue during prolonged use. The tool's weight distribution keeps it balanced, which increases control over the direction of the cut in precision work.

Use and maintenance
Replacing blade segments
Once the cutting edge becomes blunt, release the Auto Lock mechanism, fully extend the blade and use pliers to snap off the end segment at the score line. New 18 mm segmented blades are available as replacement inserts in bulk packs.
Safe working practice
When cutting materials, always point the blade away from your body. After use, retract the blade into the housing and engage the lock. Store the tool out of the reach of children.
Tool maintenance
The blade guide should be cleaned periodically to remove dust and debris from cut materials. When working in dusty environments, a dry silicone spray can be applied to the metal guide to help the blade slide smoothly.
