KD160 Petrol Generator – 230V/12V Single-Phase Generator, 3500W
The KD160 is a petrol generator powered by a 7 hp 4-stroke engine, designed for emergency backup of buildings, on-site work and mobile use. It delivers 2800 W continuous and 3500 W peak power, two 230 V sockets and a 12 V DC output, so it can power mains appliances as well as charge batteries.
Technical features
Automatic throttle technology
The intelligent throttle system (Eco-Throttle) continuously adjusts engine speed to the current power demand. Under light load the engine runs more slowly, which means lower fuel consumption and less noise. It also extends the service life of the engine.
Two starting modes
The generator is fitted with both a recoil starter and a push-button electric start. The electric option is useful when the generator is started frequently or when conditions on site make using the pull cord difficult.
12 V DC output and 230 V sockets
Two 230 V/50 Hz sockets allow several appliances to be connected at once. The 12 V output, supplied with a lead fitted with crocodile clips, lets you charge car batteries or run 12 V equipment directly from the generator.
15 L tank and up to 12 hours runtime
The large fuel tank reduces the need to top up with petrol during long working sessions. Under a load close to its rated output, the generator can run continuously for around 12 hours, which is ideal for round-the-clock emergency power.
Voltmeter and fuel gauge
A built-in voltmeter lets you monitor the output voltage at all times without additional instruments. The fuel gauge shows the level in the tank, preventing the generator from stopping unexpectedly.
Construction and vibration damping
The frame is made from stainless steel and aluminium components, giving it resistance to corrosion and mechanical damage. Anti-vibration mounts under the base absorb vibration transmitted to the ground, reducing noise at the workplace and protecting equipment connected to the generator.

Choosing the right generator output – how to check compatibility
When choosing a generator, add up the power consumption of all the appliances that are to be powered at the same time and compare the total with the generator's continuous output (2800 W for the KD160). Maximum power (3500 W) is available only briefly – mainly when electric motors start, as they draw several times more current than during normal running. Motor-driven equipment (pumps, compressors, grinders) requires a generator with a continuous output at least 1.5–2 times higher than its rated power.
Operation and maintenance
The generator must be run on unleaded petrol 95 or 98 — do not use fuel with an ethanol content above 10% (E10+). Check the engine oil before every start and change it according to the schedule in the instruction manual (usually every 50–100 operating hours). For longer storage (over 30 days), drain the tank and carburettor to prevent the fuel from gumming up. The generator should be run in a well-ventilated place — exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide and it must never be started indoors.
