GEKO G02326 7-Pin 12V Trailer Plug
Electrical plug for connecting the lighting system of a towing vehicle to a trailer. A standard solution used on light trailers with basic lighting.
Technical features
7-pin system
The plug has seven contacts covering the basic lighting functions: left and right indicators, brake lights, side lights, number plate illumination and earth. Each pin has a defined function in accordance with the ISO 1724 standard.
Plastic body
The plastic housing provides electrical insulation and protection against moisture and dirt. The material withstands typical operating conditions – temperature changes, rainfall and vibration while driving.
12V voltage
The plug is designed for 12-volt systems, which are standard in cars and vans. Compatible with most light trailers fitted with a 7-pin socket.
Cable connection
The design allows electrical cables from the vehicle system to be connected. The contacts require the wires to be connected correctly according to the colour coding and pin numbering.

Pin layout in a 7-pin connector (ISO 1724)
Pin 1 – left indicator (yellow), Pin 2 – reversing lights (blue), Pin 3 – earth (white), Pin 4 – right indicator (green), Pin 5 – right side lights (brown), Pin 6 – brake lights (red), Pin 7 – left side lights (black). Before fitting, check the markings in the vehicle and trailer documentation.
Fitting and use
Disconnect the vehicle battery before fitting. Connect the electrical cables to the appropriate pins on the plug, following the colour coding or numbering given in the vehicle manual. Once the cables are connected, protect the connections against moisture and check that all lighting functions work.
A 7-pin plug does not support advanced functions such as powering a fridge in a caravan or charging the trailer battery – 13-pin connectors are used for these purposes. Before buying, it is worth checking the type of socket fitted to the vehicle and the requirements of the trailer.
Connection maintenance
Check the condition of the plug and socket regularly – remove dirt and check that the connection is tight. If the contacts become oxidised, an electrical contact cleaner can be used. During longer periods of storage, disconnect the plug from the socket to prevent corrosion.
