Sanding sheet on a cloth backing with aluminium oxide grit. Designed for hand sanding of wood, metal and selected plastics.
Technical characteristics of the abrasive cloth
P60 grit – coarse sanding
Under the FEPA standard, a P60 grit corresponds to a grain diameter of 265 micrometres. It is used for removing thicker layers of material, stripping old paint and lacquer coatings, and initially levelling surfaces ahead of further work with finer grits.
Cloth backing – flexibility and durability
As a carrier for the abrasive, cloth is more resistant to tearing than paper. It allows edges, rounded sections and hard-to-reach areas to be sanded without the risk of the sheet being damaged quickly during intensive work.
Aluminium oxide – a universal abrasive
Aluminium oxide (Al₂O₃) grains stay sharp for longer thanks to self-sharpening during use. They perform well on materials of varying hardness – from hardwood and structural steel through to ABS and PVC plastics.
230 × 280 mm format – a standard size
The sheet dimensions match the format widely used for hand sanding. The sheet can be cut into smaller pieces or folded to suit the surfaces being sanded and sanding blocks of various sizes.

Choosing the right grit for the job
P60 grit is an intermediate stage in the sanding process. After working with this grit, finer grades (P80, P120, P150) should be used to achieve a smoother surface. For coarse material removal, P40 or P50 grits are used.
Use and maintenance
During work, the abrasive cloth should be cleaned of dust regularly – clogged grains lose their cutting ability. When sanding resinous materials (softwood) or sticky ones (oil-based paints), the sheet should be replaced more often. The cloth should be stored in a dry place, away from sources of moisture that could weaken the bond holding the grains.
For hand sanding, sanding blocks or purpose-made holders are recommended, as they distribute pressure evenly and extend the life of the abrasive. Too much pressure wears the grains out faster, while too little reduces the efficiency of the work.
Personal protective equipment
Sanding produces dust that can irritate the respiratory tract. FFP2 or FFP3 dust masks, safety goggles and work gloves are recommended. In enclosed spaces, adequate ventilation is essential.
