Drop-forged carbon steel construction
Drop forging ensures a uniform material structure and increases the mechanical strength of the tool. The process eliminates internal stresses and porosity, which translates into resistance to cracking under torsional loads when undoing seized fasteners.
Plastic-coated handle
The ergonomic plastic handle isolates the hand from cold metal and provides a non-slip grip. The handle coating reduces hand fatigue during prolonged work and allows safer use in damp conditions.
Jaw adjustment up to 35 mm
The worm-screw mechanism allows smooth adjustment of the jaw width up to 35 mm. This makes it possible to work with nuts and bolt heads in metric sizes from M6 to M22 and imperial sizes from 1/4" to 1-3/8", removing the need for a set of open-ended spanners.
Nickel-plated finish
Electroplated nickel protects the carbon steel against corrosion in damp environments and on contact with petroleum-based substances. The nickel layer makes the tool easier to clean and prevents dirt from sticking to the surface.

Choosing the right adjustable spanner size
A length of 300 mm is a compromise between leverage and the ability to work in confined spaces. The maximum jaw capacity of 35 mm corresponds to the nuts used in 1" water supply installations and to typical mechanical connections in household appliances. For connections requiring higher torque or larger diameters, 375-450 mm spanners with a capacity up to 50 mm are recommended.
Use and maintenance
Before starting work, adjust the jaw opening so that the nut or bolt head is gripped across its full width. A fit that is too loose wears down the edges of the fastener and causes the tool to slip. The adjustable spanner is not intended for applications requiring high torque – in such cases an open-ended or socket spanner should be used.
After use, clean the tool of dirt and dry it. The worm-screw mechanism requires periodic lubrication with lithium grease or machine oil, particularly when used frequently. The nickel-plated finish should be protected from scratches and contact with corrosive substances.
When working, pull the spanner towards you rather than pushing it away – this prevents loss of control if the joint suddenly comes loose. Do not extend the spanner's arm with pipes or other objects, as this exceeds the strength of the material and damages the adjustment mechanism.
