Automatic striking mechanism
A spring-loaded system activated by pressure on the material surface. Once the punch is pressed against the surface and sufficient pressure is applied, the internal mechanism automatically releases the energy and delivers a strike without the need for a hammer. This solution speeds up work and improves the repeatability of the mark.
Impact force adjustment

How the automatic mechanism works
The automatic centre punch uses a spring-loaded striking mechanism. As the tool is pressed against the material surface, the internal spring is tensioned. Once a specific pressure point is reached, the trigger mechanism automatically releases the stored energy, causing the point to move sharply towards the material. The strike of the point creates an indentation in the surface, which then serves as a centre point for the drill bit.
Impact force and material hardness
Soft materials (aluminium, brass, plastics) require less impact force — a shallow mark is enough to prevent the drill bit from slipping. Hard materials (structural steel, tool steel) need greater impact energy in order to create a clear indentation. Excessive force on soft materials can deform or crack the surface.
Use and maintenance
Before starting work, set the appropriate impact force by testing the tool on a sample piece of material. The centre punch should be held perpendicular to the surface being marked — an angled position can cause the point to slip and result in an inaccurate mark. After each use, it is worth removing any contamination from the point and checking the condition of the tip.
Maintenance includes periodic cleaning of the spring mechanism and checking the condition of the point. A worn or damaged point causes inaccurate marks and needs to be replaced. If the impact force weakens, check the condition of the internal spring. The tool should be stored in a dry place, protected from corrosion and mechanical damage.
