A punch with a constant-diameter 5 mm working shank, designed for the precise driving out of pins, dowels, split pins and bushes in mechanical joints. Manufactured from CrV6150 chrome vanadium steel with an additional titanium coating that provides resistance to heavy impact loads and corrosion.
The CrV6150 alloy combines high hardness with impact resistance, which is essential when working with a hammer. Vanadium increases wear resistance, while chromium improves structural strength — the tool retains its shank shape even after repeated impacts.
The titanium layer applied to the surface of the tool limits corrosion and reduces friction during use. The coating extends service life in environments exposed to moisture, oils and other workshop factors that accelerate steel wear.
A uniform diameter along the entire working length keeps the tool steady in the hole and eliminates the risk of slipping during impact. As a result, the force is transferred directly to the component being driven out rather than to the edge of the hole.
This dimension provides the right balance between impact control and the ability to reach components in deeper-set joints. A length of 180 mm is standard for workshop pin punches used in assembly and dismantling work.

The working diameter of the punch should be slightly smaller than the diameter of the component being driven out — if it is too large it may damage the pilot hole, while if it is too small it increases the risk of slipping and shank deformation. A 5 mm punch is suitable for pins and dowels with a similar nominal diameter in the 5–5.5 mm range.
