Axe PROFI 800G x 14" GEKO G72211
A universal axe with an 800 g head and a 14-inch wooden handle. The head is made from high-carbon steel, hardened and tempered to increase the blade's resistance to mechanical damage.
Technical characteristics
Hardened high-carbon steel
The head is made from steel with an increased carbon content (0.6-0.8% C), which gives the blade a hardness of 52-56 HRC. The hardening and tempering process eliminates brittleness in the material, increasing its ductility — the blade does not chip when striking knots.
Profiled wooden handle
The 14-inch handle (approximately 35.5 cm) is made from natural hardwood and anatomically profiled for a better grip. The natural wood absorbs some of the vibration on impact, reducing the strain on the wrist.
800 g weight
The head weight is matched to medium-to-heavy work. With a 390 mm handle, it delivers enough leverage for splitting soft and medium-hard wood without excessive effort from the user.
Rubber blade guard
A cover that protects the cutting edge during storage and transport. It prevents accidental cuts and stops the blade from being blunted against hard surfaces.

Choosing an axe for the type of work
An 800 g axe with a 390 mm handle is a compromise between cutting power and tool control. It works well for tasks requiring frequent, precise strikes. For splitting large logs (over 25 cm in diameter), heavier 1200-1500 g models with a longer handle are recommended.
Use and maintenance
Before first use, check that the head is seated correctly on the handle. The wooden handle may need the securing wedge tightening periodically, particularly after the first few uses or when humidity changes.
The blade should be sharpened regularly with a file or whetstone at an angle of 25-30 degrees. High-carbon steel needs protection against corrosion — after use, it is worth wiping the blade with mineral oil or an anti-corrosion product.
The wooden handle should be protected from prolonged contact with water. With intensive use, periodic treatment of the wood with linseed oil or a tool maintenance product is recommended.
