Splitting Wedge 10" ABS G72209 GEKO
A splitting wedge made from ABS plastic, designed for splitting wood and tree trunks without the need for additional tools. Its 254 mm length allows it to be driven into cracks effectively, reducing the force required to split the wood.
Features
ABS plastic instead of steel
ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is impact-resistant and lightweight. It does not rust, needs no maintenance and will not damage a saw chain if it comes into accidental contact while cutting.
Special wedge shape
The profiled geometry with its taper gradually widens the crack. As a result, the wood splits with less force than with traditional axe or hatchet methods.
Tool-free fitting
The wedge is driven directly into a saw cut or a natural crack in the wood. It requires no hammer or other tools to fit – simply push it in by hand or tap it lightly with a piece of wood.
Compact dimensions
The 89 mm width and 30.5 mm thickness allow it to be used in cracks of various widths. Its low weight (262 g) makes it easy to carry and to work with for longer periods without fatigue.

Use and maintenance
How to use
Make a cut at least 5-10 cm deep with a chainsaw or hand saw. Push the wedge into the crack with the wide end first. If necessary, tap the wedge in with a piece of wood – do not use a metal hammer, as it can damage the material. Once the wood has split, remove the wedge and clean off any debris.
Maintenance
ABS plastic requires no special maintenance. After use, simply clean any debris off the wedge and store it in a dry place. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct UV light, which can weaken the structure of the material.
