A bi-hex socket with a 1/2" square drive for 10 mm bolts and nuts. Made from chrome vanadium steel and designed for use with torque wrenches, ratchets and spinner handles in the 1/2" drive size.
The 12-point design increases the contact area with the bolt by around 20% compared with a 6-point profile. It allows work at a smaller turning angle (30° instead of 60°), which matters in confined working spaces. It reduces the risk of rounding off the corners of fasteners.
The 1/2" (12.7 mm) standard is the mid-range workshop tool size, used in automotive mechanics and industry. It is compatible with ratchets, torque wrenches and spinner handles of the same size. It provides suitable strength for torque loads from 40 to 200 Nm.
A steel alloy with added chromium (increases hardness and corrosion resistance) and vanadium (improves resistance to material fatigue). A typical hardness of 40-45 HRC ensures resistance to deformation when working on seized fasteners. A standard material in professional workshop-grade tools.

The socket works with all tools with a 1/2" drive: hand ratchets, torque wrenches (check the torque range of the tool), spinner handles, 1/2" extension bars and universal joints, pneumatic and electric impact wrenches (check the maximum impact torque). Before using with a torque wrench, make sure the required torque falls within the range of the tool.
Before use, check the condition of the socket – no cracks, chipping of the working edges or deformation of the square drive. The socket should be fitted fully onto the fastener – partial engagement increases the risk of damaging both the socket and the bolt.
After working on components covered in grease or oil, clean any residue from the socket. Check the condition of the square drive periodically – a worn drive causes play on the ratchet and can lead to the socket falling off during work. Store sockets in organiser trays or on magnetic rails to prevent mechanical damage.
Avoid using the socket as a hammer or chisel. Do not use pipe extensions to increase torque – exceeding the strength of the material can cause the socket to crack. For seized fasteners, apply penetrating fluid and wait before attempting to undo them.
