A bi-hex socket with a 1/2" drive and 17 mm size, made from CrV 50BV30 chrome vanadium steel. Designed for use with torque wrenches, ratchets and impact sockets in mechanical workshops and on assembly work.
The 1/2" marking refers to the square drive size (12.7 mm). Compatible with ratchets, torque wrenches and extension bars in this standard. This size strikes a balance between the torque transmitted to the fastener and versatility of use.
The bi-hex interior of the socket provides contact with the nut or bolt head at 12 points instead of 6. This allows work with a limited tool swing (every 30° instead of 60°), which matters in tight working spaces. This profile works with both hexagonal and bi-hex fasteners.
50BV30 chrome vanadium steel has an increased chromium and vanadium content, which raises hardness and wear resistance. The drop forging process densifies the material structure, reducing the risk of cracking under load. Dimensional calibration ensures fitting tolerances in line with DIN standards.
The 17 mm size corresponds to the width across the flats of the nut or bolt head. This size is standard in hydraulic and pneumatic installations and when fitting suspension and brake system components in vehicles. Before purchase, verify the spanner size of the fastener.

The socket works with all tools with a 1/2" square drive: manual and pneumatic ratchets, torque wrenches, impact sockets, extension bars, universal joints and bit holders. Before use, check that the torque of the tool does not exceed the strength of the socket.
Before first use, check the condition of the socket's working surfaces - the absence of scratches and burrs ensures proper contact with the fastener. During use, the socket should be seated on the fastener to the full depth of the profile, which minimises the risk of damaging the nut edges.
After use, clean the socket of dirt and protect it from corrosion with a thin layer of oil. Storing it in organisers or on magnetic rails protects against mechanical damage and makes size identification easier. Regular inspection of technical condition allows signs of wear to be detected before working parameters are lost.
