Yato YT-34701 Bi-metal Multi-Tool Blade for Wood and Metal
Replacement blade for oscillating multi-tools, with a bi-metal HSS construction and TiN coating. Designed for cutting wood, non-ferrous metals, steel and stainless steel in renovation and workshop applications.
Bi-metal Blade Features
Bi-metal HSS Construction
The combination of high-speed steel (HSS) with flexible spring steel provides resistance to breakage while maintaining the hardness of the cutting edge. The HSS material retains its sharpness even when cutting harder materials, which extends the blade's service life.
TiN Coating (Titanium Nitride)
The titanium nitride layer increases surface hardness to around 2400 HV, reduces friction during cutting and protects against corrosion. The TiN coating reduces heat build-up in the blade, which translates into a longer service life and cleaner cut edges.
Semi-circular Blade Shape
The curved blade geometry enables plunge cutting without the need to pre-drill a hole. This shape makes it easier to make cut-outs in boards and panels, and to work in hard-to-reach places.
Versatile Application
The blade handles solid and composite wood, aluminium, copper, structural steel and stainless steel. Being able to cut different materials with one tool removes the need for frequent blade changes during multi-stage work.

Checking Compatibility
The blade fits Yato oscillating multi-tools with the OIS (Oscillating Interface System) fitting. Before buying, check that your multi-tool accepts accessories marked YT-82223 or YT-34701. Most multi-tools accept standard OIS fittings, but it is worth verifying compatibility in the tool's manual.
Use and Maintenance
Before you start work, check that the blade is correctly secured in the multi-tool's holder – play can damage both the blade and the tool. When cutting metal, lower speeds and light pressure are recommended, as this prevents the TiN coating from overheating.
After use, the blade should be cleaned of dust and swarf with a brush or compressed air. If you have been cutting resinous materials (wood), remove any residue with a solvent. Storing it in a dry place prevents corrosion, despite the protective TiN coating.
Signs that the blade needs replacing are a marked increase in cutting time, ragged edges or excessive vibration during use. A bi-metal blade dulls gradually – regular replacement keeps work efficient and safe.
