A central heating boiler cleaning rod with a wooden handle and M12 thread. A 1000 mm long tool designed for the mechanical removal of soot, deposits and contamination from heat exchangers and flue gas passages in central heating boilers.

1000 mm working length
The one-metre rod reaches the rear sections of the heat exchanger and the flue gas passages in medium and large boilers. Long enough to service most domestic and industrial boilers without having to dismantle the combustion chamber.
M12 female thread

Compatibility with accessories
The M12 thread is the standard fitting for boiler cleaning tools. Before buying brushes, check the diameter of the boiler flue – typical sizes are 60–150 mm. Wire brushes, nylon brushes or scrapers can be screwed onto the rod, depending on the type of deposit.
Use and maintenance
Before cleaning, switch off the boiler and wait for it to cool. With solid fuel boilers, the ash must be removed from the firebox. The rod with the brush attached is inserted into the flue or heat exchanger using a back-and-forth motion.
The intensity of cleaning is matched to the thickness of the deposits – fresh soot requires a few passes, while hardened deposits may need the operation to be repeated several times. After use, clean the soot off the rod and protect it against corrosion, particularly the connection thread.
Cleaning frequency
Coal-fired boilers need cleaning every 2–4 weeks during the heating season. Pellet boilers – every 4–8 weeks. Gas and oil boilers – once a season or as recommended by the manufacturer. Regular removal of deposits increases boiler efficiency by 10–20% and reduces fuel consumption.
