YT-06807 YATO Brake Caliper Socket Set

A professional three-piece pentagon socket set designed for the removal and fitting of brake calipers in Bendix and Girling systems. The tool enables safe replacement of brake pads and full servicing of brake systems across a range of vehicle makes.

Socket sizes10, 14, 19 mm
MaterialCrV steel
Drive type1/2"
CompatibilityBendix, Girling

Technical Features of the Brake Caliper Socket Set

Pentagon socket profile

A specialist internal shape matched to the geometry of brake caliper bolts. The pentagon profile distributes force evenly across all edges, minimising the risk of rounding off or damaging the bolt during removal, particularly on heavily tightened or corroded components.

Chrome vanadium steel (CrV)

A material with increased hardness and resistance to wear. Chrome vanadium alloy offers better strength characteristics than standard tool steel, which translates into a longer service life for the sockets during intensive workshop use, along with resistance to deformation under high torque.

1/2" drive

A standard square drive size that is compatible with most ratchets and torque wrenches found in workshops. The 1/2" connection allows transmission of the torque required for work on brake calipers without risk of damaging the tool.

Compatibility with Bendix and Girling systems

The set includes socket sizes matched to the most common types of brake caliper found on European and American vehicles. Bendix and Girling systems are fitted to Ford, Opel, Citroen, Peugeot, Renault and Smart models, making the set a universal solution for most service work.

Applications of the Brake Caliper Socket Set

  • Removal and fitting of brake calipers when replacing brake pads
  • Repair and refurbishment of brake systems in automotive workshops
  • Replacement of brake discs requiring caliper removal
  • Maintenance and cleaning of brake caliper mechanisms
  • Servicing of Ford, Smart, Opel, Citroen, Peugeot and Renault vehicles
  • Service work on Bendix and Girling brake systems
  • Diagnosis and repair of brake calipers in a home workshop
  • Seasonal tyre changes with a simultaneous check of the brake system

Checking vehicle compatibility

Before purchase, verify the type of brake system fitted to the vehicle. Information about the brake system can be found in the vehicle's technical documentation or by checking the marking on the brake caliper. Bendix and Girling systems are most commonly found on European passenger cars built after 1990.

Use and Maintenance of the Sockets

When working with brake caliper sockets, use the correct torque in line with the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations. Using a torque wrench prevents over-tightening of the bolts, which can lead to damaged threads or cracking of caliper components.

Before first use, it is worth cleaning the protective oil from the sockets. After finishing work, clean the sockets of contamination and apply a light coating of lubricant to prevent corrosion. Pay particular attention to cleaning the internal pentagon profile, where contamination can collect and affect the precision of the fit on the bolt.

When working with corroded bolts, apply penetrating fluid before attempting to undo them. Suddenly increasing force without preparation can damage both the bolt and the socket.
