A tool designed for cutting copper and aluminium cables of various constructions. The sickle-shaped blades deliver a clean cut without crushing the conductor.
Technical characteristics
Sickle-shaped blades
The rounded blade geometry cuts the cable progressively from the outside inwards. Hardened steel increases the durability of the cutting edge and extends the intervals between sharpening. The design prevents the cable from being crushed while cutting.
Material compatibility
Suitable for cutting copper (Cu) and aluminium (Al) cables in fine-stranded and multi-stranded versions. The blade shape allows both solid conductors and stranded conductors to be cut without the strands splaying.
Protected handles
The handle sleeves are fitted with an impact protection system. The design protects the user's hands when the cutters are closed and reduces the risk of damage to the mechanism when the jaws are fully closed.
24-inch leverage
The 600 mm length increases cutting force thanks to the longer lever arm. It allows cables of larger cross-section to be cut with less physical effort. A balance between manoeuvrability and cutting power.

Differences between Cu and Al cables
Copper cables are harder and require slightly more force to cut. Aluminium is softer but more prone to crushing. The sickle-shaped blades on this model have been designed to distribute force evenly and minimise deformation of both materials.
Use and maintenance
Before starting work, check the condition of the blades for nicks and signs of corrosion. Hardened steel is resistant to wear but requires periodic cleaning to remove insulation residue and metal oxides. After cutting, wipe the blades with a dry cloth, and in damp environments protect them with a thin layer of machine oil.
When cutting multi-stranded cable, place the cable perpendicular to the plane of the blades to avoid the strands splaying. Do not use these cutters on steel cable, armoured rope or materials harder than copper and aluminium. Exceeding the permitted cross-section may damage the mechanism or crush the blades.
The handle protection system requires no maintenance, but the rubber or plastic components should be checked periodically for damage. If the fastening bolts work loose, tighten them with a spanner of the correct size, avoiding excessive force that could restrict the movement of the jaws.
