A tool for the mechanical cleaning of pipes, heat exchangers and boilers in central heating systems. It is used to remove soot, scale and other contaminants from the internal surfaces of a heating system.

How to check compatibility
Before buying, measure the internal diameter of the pipework in your system. An 80 mm brush is intended for pipes with an internal bore of around 75-85 mm. With smaller bores it may jam; with larger ones the bristles may not make sufficient contact with the pipe walls.
Use and maintenance
Before starting work, switch off the system and wait for it to cool down. Feed the brush into the pipe with a back-and-forth motion, gradually removing the accumulated dirt. Once cleaning is complete, it is advisable to flush the system with water to remove loosened deposits.
After use, clean the brush of any remaining soot and deposits, then store it in a dry place. Checking the condition of the bristles regularly helps to keep the tool effective – worn or damaged bristles may mean the whole brush needs replacing.
Cleaning frequency
In systems with solid fuel boilers, cleaning at least once a year, before the heating season, is recommended. In gas and oil systems – every 2-3 years, or as advised by the boiler manufacturer. More frequent cleaning may be necessary if you notice a drop in heating performance.
