A specialist workshop tool for fitting and removing internal circlips in brake calipers. The extended design provides access to components positioned deep within the caliper body.
A working depth of 50 mm allows work inside the brake caliper body without the need to remove it completely. Particularly useful on multi-piston calipers, where the retaining circlip sits deep within the bore.
The shape and dimensions of the tips are matched to the standard circlips used in the brake systems of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. The correct jaw spacing prevents damage to the circlip during fitting.
The plier tips have lugs that grip the slots in the inner part of the circlip. Squeezing the handles expands the circlip, allowing it to be fitted into or removed from the groove in the bore.
The tool is intended for service work on brake systems, in particular when replacing pistons or seals, or when refurbishing calipers. It eliminates the risk of damaging the circlip that arises when universal tools are used.

Before starting work, make sure the plier tips are clean and undamaged. Insert the tips into the holes of the circlip, then gently squeeze the handles to expand the circlip. Once clear of the groove, the circlip can be removed. When fitting, the procedure is reversed – the circlip is expanded, placed over the piston and released into the groove.
After each use, clean the tips of dirt and brake fluid. The squeezing mechanism requires periodic lubrication to ensure smooth operation. Avoid applying excessive force to the tool – if you meet resistance, it is better to check that the tips are correctly positioned than to increase pressure.
When working with circlips, there is a risk of them springing out under tension. Safety glasses are recommended. The tool must only be used for its intended purpose – it is not suitable for external circlips or for any other application. Damaged tips may slip off the circlip and damage the caliper.
