Twist drill bit made from cobalt-bearing HSS high-speed steel, designed for drilling metals, including difficult-to-machine materials. Cylindrical shank to DIN 338.
The 5% cobalt content increases the hardness and heat resistance of the steel. The drill bit keeps its cutting edges sharp at temperatures up to 600°C, which allows higher rotational speeds and extends tool life compared with standard HSS drill bits.
The 125° point with three-stage grinding makes the drill bit self-centring in the material. This removes the need for pre-punching, speeds up the work and reduces the risk of the bit slipping at the start of drilling.
Precision grinding of the helical flutes ensures accurate guidance of the drill bit and efficient chip clearance from the hole. This reduces heat build-up in the tool and improves the quality of the finished hole.
The cobalt in the steel structure improves resistance to abrasion and oxidation at high temperatures. The drill bit retains its working parameters even under intensive use in materials up to 900 N/mm².

The 9 mm cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks. Check the chuck capacity on your drill or driver — it should cover a 9 mm diameter. For pillar drills, make sure the motor output is at least 500 W for optimum performance at this diameter.
When drilling metals, use emulsion or cutting oil for cooling. For stainless steels, the recommended rotational speed is approximately 400-600 rpm at a 9 mm diameter. For structural steels, the speed can be increased to 800-1000 rpm.
After use, clean the drill bit of chips and material residue. Check the sharpness of the cutting edges regularly — a blunt drill bit generates more heat and increases the risk of damage. Store the tool in a dry place, protected from moisture and mechanical impacts.
The drill bit can be sharpened on a grinder with a 60-80 grit corundum wheel. Keep the original 125° point angle and the symmetry of both cutting edges. Avoid overheating the material during sharpening — excessive temperature reduces the hardness of the cobalt alloy.
