A combination spanner in 8 mm size, manufactured from carbon steel. The tool combines the function of an open-end and a ring spanner, making it a versatile choice for assembly and service work.
One end of the spanner has an open head, the other a ring head. This allows you to choose the appropriate end depending on access to the bolt and the tightening torque required. The ring head provides a better grip and reduces the risk of damaging the corners of the nut.
The material provides the mechanical strength needed to withstand the loads involved in tightening and loosening fasteners. Carbon steel offers suitable hardness, which minimises the risk of the spanner deforming during use.
The angle of the ring head relative to the handle axis improves access to fasteners in confined spaces. It allows work in locations where a standard straight spanner does not provide a sufficient working swing.
The spanner is designed for bolts and nuts with a spanner size of 8 mm. Before purchase, check the dimensions of the fasteners – the spanner size corresponds to the width across the flats of the nut or bolt head, measured at its widest point.

Before starting work, verify the spanner size with a screwdriver or callipers. The 8 mm size refers to the distance between the parallel flats of the nut or bolt head. Using a spanner of the wrong size damages the corners of the fastener and makes subsequent removal more difficult.
Place the spanner on the nut or bolt head so that the working surfaces are in full contact. When tightening, apply force in a direction parallel to the handle axis, avoiding tilting the spanner. Excessive load can permanently deform the tool.
After use, clean the spanner of dirt and dry it. Storing it in a dry place prevents surface corrosion. Regular inspection of the working surfaces allows signs of wear to be detected early – visible rounding of the head edges indicates that the tool needs to be replaced.
When using spanners, wear work gloves to protect against cuts and mechanical injury. Never extend the spanner with a pipe or another tool to increase torque – this can cause the tool to crack and produce dangerous fragments.
